LE SSERAFIM Huh Yunjin Talks About The Differences of America and Korea in Latest Video

LE SSERAFIM member Huh Yunjin gave fans a glimpse into the differences between America and Korea in her latest Vogue appearance.

On May 15, 2024, Vogue shared a new video featuring Huh Yunjin for their "Beauty Secrets" series. In the video, the LE SSERAFIM member dived into her skincare routine and daily make-up routine, while also sharing fun stories and anecdotes about her life.

One of the things she talked about are differences she noticed between America and Korea.

First was the make-up. She claimed the biggest difference in the make-up styles revolved around the base. Koreans opt for dewy, minimal, light-coverage base make-up. On the other hand, American make-up is more matte and more full-coverage.

She recalled that as a high school student in America, Huh Yunjin was into contouring. However, after moving to South Korea, she noticed that sculpting was not as big a trend there. Overall, Korean make-up looks are more minimal.

Another thing she pointed out is South Korea's obsession with the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, or MBTI, a popular personality test that labels what kind of person someone is. She noted that in America, people are more into horoscopes and zodiacs.

If in America, people ask "What's your sign?," Koreans ask "What's your MBTI?" instead.

The idol also talked about her training for a bit. She noted that before someone can debut as an idol, they need to be a trainee. Every month, they have an evaluation, which requires them to be in front of a camera and look good. Since she wanted to look her best, the female idol recalled picking up tips and tricks to look better on camera.

One such trick is curling her bottom lashes. She would turn her eyelash curler upside down to curl her bottom lashes and make them fan out a little bit.
