A member of the Mexican girl group Jeans has mentioned NewJeans on her social media following accusations that the K-pop girl group plagiarized them.
Paty Sirvent, a member of the Mexican group Jeans, recently addressed allegations of plagiarism involving the K-pop group NewJeans.
Through her personal Instagram account, Sirvent shared photos comparing NewJeans and Jeans, commenting, "I love it (me encanta)."
She then posted a photo summarizing the plagiarism allegations and added, "Wooow! We weren't so bad. (No estábamos tan equivocados)."
The conflict between ADOR's CEO Min Hee Jin and HYBE has been ongoing. HYBE accused Min Hee Jin of attempting to take over total management rights of ADOR, while Min He Jin has claimed that the rookie girl group ILLIT, managed by BELIFT Lab under HYBE, plagiarized NewJeans.
Amid the ongoing conflict between the two, suspicions have arisen online suggesting that NewJeans may have plagiarized the Mexican girl group Jeans. El Siglo, a Mexican media outlet, highlighted this issue last year, reporting claims that NewJeans may have taken some of their ideas from Jeans, a popular group from the 90s. The report pointed out similarities in outfits and concepts between the two groups.
The debate over whether NewJeans plagiarized Jeans continues, with some netizens arguing that NewJeans may have referenced rather than copied Jeans.
Previously, CEO Min Hee Jin claimed that ILLIT had plagiarized NewJeans's formula for their debut, criticizing their production formula for copying NewJeans's. She questioned the purpose of having a multi-label system if it did not foster originality.

Currently, Min Hee Jin is facing a lawsuit from BELIFT Lab for obstruction of business and defamation, following her allegations against ILLIT. BELIFT Lab has stated, "We categorically deny the plagiarism allegations made by CEO Min Hee Jin against our artist ILLIT. We have submitted evidence to the judicial authorities proving the allegations are false and are committed to resolving this matter through legal processes, however long it may take."
