The alleged stalker of Apink member Jung Eunji is being put to trial.

An appeal trial against a woman in her 50s who is accused of stalking Apink member and actress Jung Eunji for several years will resume in July of this year.

According to legal circles on June 7, 2024, the Seoul Central District Court will hold the first trial of the appeal for the 50-something-year-old woman, Ms. A, who was indicted for violating the Act on the Punishment of Stalking Crimes and other related laws on July 9.

In the first trial, Ms. A was sentenced to one year in prison and two years of probation. Additionally, she was fined 100,000 won and ordered to undergo protective supervision, 120 hours of community service, and 40 hours of stalking crime prevention education.

Ms. A was indicted for sending a total of 544 text messages to Jung Eunji with messages such as "Will you accept me as your servant, your companion?" starting from March 2020.

Additionally, in May 2020, she was accused of following Jung Eunji's vehicle from KBS headquarters to a hair and makeup salon in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, using her motorcycle.

In July 2021, the woman was also found lurking in the entrance of the apartment where Jung Eunji resided.

The first trial court stated, "The contents of the messages sent by the defendant to the victim exceeded the level of a fan showing support, interest, and affection that a fan would typically express to a favorite celebrity."
