HyunA Receives Silent Treatment During Recent Performance: 'She Needs to Stop'

K-pop fans felt second-hand embarrassment in a recent event when HyunA was given silent treatment during her stage.

Earlier on July 13, the 2024 O-NE SUPERRACE CHAMPIONSHIP continues with the Yongin Night Race Vol.2 of the Summer Racing campaign.

The event was then attended not only by race enthusiasts, but music fans were also present to witness the musical performance of Korean artists including HyunA, DAVICHI, Kid Milli and BE'O.

On July 19 then, spectators started sharing videos from the event, and among them, HyunA became a hot topic, but for a negative reason.

In particular, during the massive event, HyunA greeted viewers in a women's racing outfit and graced the stage with her all-time hits such as "Bubble Pop," "Red," "Lip & Hip," "I'm Not Cool" and "Q&A."

While she once again flaunted why she used to be the top-tier female soloist in the K-pop scene with her sweet vocals and charisma on stage, she still failed to impress spectators as they gave her the silent treatment.

There were a few fans who cheered for her, but when HyunA pointed her mic to the crowd to sing some lines from her popular tracks, they remained silent.

While this could be perceived as disrespectful to the well-known singer, online users who watched the clip sympathized more with the viewers and claimed that HyunA "deserves" it.

They called out the female icon to stop embarrassing herself and stop trying to redeem her image by attending events and music festivals.

Here are some of the comments:

To those who aren't aware, the hate train and unofficial boycott campaign against HyunA started in January 2024, after admitting that she's dating Yong Junhyung. The majority of her fans fully turned their backs on her following their wedding announcement in October.

The reason was due to the fact that Yong's name was linked to Jung Joon Young, the main perpetrator in the Burning Sun Scandal.

While Yong denied that he's not a member of the infamous KakaoTalk GC where Jung uploaded "molka" videos (illegally filmed videos) of their sexual assault victims, HyunA's boyfriend admitted that he watched the videos sent by Jung and exchanged sexually explicit messages with him.

As an aftermath of dating the controversial idol, HyunA lost hundreds of thousands of Instagram followers and lost her reputable image. Her recent comeback, "Attitude" failed to enter domestic music charts, and recently, most of her North American tour dates set in August were canceled, drawing speculations that they were left with no choice but to not do it due to poor ticket sales.
