Weki Meki Officially Disbands Following Contract Expiration + 5 Members Part Ways With Fantagio
Weki Meki has officially ended their group activities following their last comeback "CoinciDestiny" and contract expiration. The announcement was trailed by heartbroken fans, who reacted to the girl group's disbandment.
On August 16, Fantagio released an official statement detailing Weki Meki's disbandment. The agency shared that Weki Meki's group activities ended earlier on August 8, wrapping up their seven-year journey.
Fantagio added that contract renewals were being discussed with members Ji Suyeon, Choi Yoojin, and Kim Doyeon. However, Elly, Sei, Lua, Rina, and Lucy have decided to terminate their contracts with the company.
The agency expressed its gratitude to the five members for their hard work and conveyed support for their future activities. Fantagio also asked fans to support the five idols in their career paths. Read the agency's full statement below:
"Hello. This is Fantagio.
Firstly, we would like to thank fans who have loved and supported Weki Meki. After engaging with Weki Meki in a lengthy discussion, it was concluded that they would end their group activities as of August 8.
We are also currently discussing with Ji Suyeon, Choi Yoojung, and Kim Doyeon about renewing their contracts. Members Elly, Sei, Lua, Rina, and Lucy have decided to end their exclusive contract with us.
We want to thank Elly, Sei, Lua, Rina, and Lucy for their brilliant performances as members of Weki Meki. The group's activities have officially ended, but we will continue to do our best to support them in their endeavors.
We would like to ask you for your love and support for Elly, Sei, Lua, Rina, and Lucy, who will be showcasing more of their activities and charms. Please continue to look forward to the members as they move forward.
Thank you."

Earlier on June 6, News1 shared that Weki Meki would disband after releasing their final digital single titled, "CoinciDestiny." Weki Meki released the single on June 12, at 6 p.m., KST.
