ITZY's leader Yeji Kim, better known as Yeji, is gearing up for her highly anticipated solo debut, releasing a teaser trailer and her promotion schedule at midnight on Sunday.
Yeji, 24, dropped the teaser trailer for her first solo album AIR, on the official social media accounts of ITZY. The album is set to be released on March 10 at 6 PM KST, marking her as the first member of the girl group to launch one.
In addition to a teaser trailer, Yeji also dropped a promotion schedule for the album's release—which includes the unveiling of the tracklist on Valentine's Day, concept photos from Feb. 24 to 28, the album spoiler on March 3, teaser photos from the music video on March 5 and 7, and the album cover on March 10.
Furthermore, Yeji will hold a live countdown one hour before the official release of AIR.
Yeji's Music Career
The 24-year-old K-pop idol got her start in the Korean music industry when she joined JYP Entertainment as a trainee in 2015. She caught the public's attention in 2018 through her appearance on SBS' "The Fan," where she was described as "JYP's secret weapon" by 2PM's Junho. After training for about 2 years and 8 months, Yeji debuted as the leader, main dancer, and lead vocalist of ITZY on Feb. 12, 2019.
ITZY's debut single "Dalla Dalla" was an instant hit, peaking at number two on several charts and achieving the highest number of views in 24 hours for a K-pop group's debut video. ITZY has since released several successful EPs and singles, with many of their songs topping charts in South Korea and internationally.
Yeji has primarily focused on group activities, but she has also pursued some solo ventures. In December 2024, she released her first OST, "Think About You," for the TV drama "Love Your Enemy."
