Park Sang Hyun, a victim of fraud allegedly committed by Kim Jenny, the mother of P1Harmony member Keeho, has issued a public apology to the idol.
Park—CEO of production company HUG INTL—claims to have lost 1.1 billion KRW (roughly $763,000) in the alleged fraud. The scheme allegedly involved Kim, who borrowed the money from Park and swore on her two sons, Keeho and 82MAJOR's Yoon Yechan. She also promised Park that she would return the money in full in four months. However, Kim failed to keep her word, leading Park to sue her for fraud.
Since then, the CEO has shared updates about the lawsuit, many of which named Keeho. However, in an Instagram post on Tuesday, Park expressed regret for his actions, acknowledging that Keeho was not involved in the matter and had even shown willingness to help resolve the situation.
"I reacted too emotionally without taking the time to think it through," he wrote. "Upon reflection, I realize that you couldn't have known much about the situation. Yet you sincerely apologized and expressed your intent to find a solution for the damage, which I misunderstood. I feel deeply sorry for how I reacted."
Park further stated that he would no longer mention Keeho's name in association with the lawsuit. He emphasized that his frustration with the situation had led him to get involved with the idol unfairly and expressed his support for Keeho's career moving forward.
The statement comes after months of Park linking Keeho to his mother's legal troubles, despite repeated clarifications from his agency, FNC Entertainment, that he had no involvement in the case.
It is worth noting that Park is only one of Kim's many victims. There were at least 10 others who lost a total of 3 billion KRW (approximately $2.25 million).
Despite having no involvement in the issue, Keeho himself has expressed deep regret for those affected by the case. "As a son, I feel deeply sorry for this situation and will do my best to help resolve it," he said through his agency.
