Minji, a member of the popular third-generation K-pop girl group Busters, revealed this week that she had already left the group last month.

In a letter posted on her social media page, Minji reflected on her five-year journey with Busters and expressed gratitude for her time with the group. She also noted that every day with the group had been "truly happy" for her.

"I've had so many experiences and made countless memories during my time with the group. I met the fans when I was just 15, and thanks to you all, I've learned and grown so much," the letter read.

Minji also reassured supporters that her departure from the group does not mean she is leaving the entertainment industry, vowing that she will "return as a better artist." She did not provide any reason for her departure.

Busters, originally formed in 2017, underwent several lineup changes over the years. Minji joined the group during its rebranding phase, contributing to their third single album, Paeonia, which was released in 2020. The group has since released multiple albums, including Re: Born and Tropical Romance, and has maintained a dedicated fanbase.

Minji's departure follows a series of changes within Busters, including the departure of other members and the addition of new ones. The most recent rebranding happened between 2022 and 2023, when Nami officially joined the group, replacing Yunji, who left in 2021 due to personal circumstances. Notably, Yunji joined the group in the same year to replace former member Minmin.

The group currently consists of Jieun, Seira, Takara, and Nami. Minji's departure has left them as a four-member act for the time being. Busters' agency, Marbling Entertainment, has yet to release an official statement regarding Minji's departure or the group's plans for the future.
