Lindsay Lohan Rehab Over; Admits to Oprah That She’s an Addict

Lindsay Lohan’s rehab stint is over, but she admitted to Oprah Winfey last night that she is an addict and needs to change her approach. Lindsay Lohan finished her sixth stint in rehab just a few weeks ago. Lindsay Lohan’s drug of choice is alcohol, but the young star admitted that it was a gateway to other abuses.

In the interview on the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN), Lindsay Lohan said "I'm my own worst enemy, and I know that and I admit it." Lindsay Lohan told Oprah Winfrey that there wasn’t one particular moment that she realized she had a problem, it came to her "over a period of time."

When Oprah asked Lindsay Lohan if she was an addict, the “Mean Girls” star said “yeah.” Lindsay Lohan admitted that her favorite drug was alcohol, but that that it been a "gateway to other things."
Lindsay Lohan has become more known for her prison and rehab stays and the media coverage of the scandals in her life than for her work as an actor. Lindsay Lohan rose to fame as a child star in such films as “The Parent Trap” and, as a teenager, “Mean Girls,” but her arrests and court appearance have long overshadowed her film work.

Lindsay Lohan’s last rehab stay was begun at the Betty Ford Center and finished at another treatment facility.

In the interview with Oprah Winfrey, Lindsay Lohand said she felt shame and “tons of guilt" over her the many relapses she suffered with substance abuse. She also said she regretted the public quarrels with her parents and her scrapes with law enforcement.

Lindsay Lohan told Oprah Winfrey that her latest stint in rehab was different than her past stys because she is no longer taking adderal for her attention deficit disorder (ADD). Lindsay Lohan said that being on the drug was “all I know,” she said she was calmer without it. Lindsay Lohan says all the takes now is vitamins and that she has changed her attitude.

She said “I just need to shut up and listen. In this case (in rehab) I wasn't fighting at all."

Lindsay Lohan said that her life has been chaotic, even her home life, but she said that she disagreed with how most people see her relationship with her parents, who have been categorized as exploiting the young actor for financial gain.

Lindsay Lohan said about her parents, "Nobody's perfect. I love my family. "I don't think anything was intentionally done ... they're just parents. I don't blame anyone for my mistakes. I did that, and I'm not proud of it."

Lohan said she relapsed because of "all the chaos around me, that I was so comfortable with."

Since leaving her court-ordered 90-day rehab stay on July 31, Lindsay Lohan guest-hosted Chelsea Handler's talk show "Chelsea Lately" on the E! network. Her latest films was torn apart by critics, but not her performance. Lohan will star in her own reality series on the Oprah Winfrey Network next year as she continues to attend therapy sessions.
