Thor 2: The Dark World is coming to theatres this November 8, and it's getting fans really excited.  Not only are the trailers and teasers keeping the anticipation high; but Odin, the King of Asgard, also fans the flame of eagerness with his voice over on the trailer.  He said, "Some believed that before the universe, there was nothing.  They're wrong... there was darkness..."

Marvel shares the plot summary of the highly-anticipated film:

Marvel's "Thor: The Dark World" continues the big screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. In the aftermath of Marvel's "Thor" and "Marvel's The Avengers," Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos...but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.

In an interview with Empire Magazine, Director Alan Taylor said, "You know, we are killing Asgardians in this movie.  It turns out immortality isn't all that it was cracked up to be."

Chris Hemsworth reprises his role as Thor, the crown prince of Asgard, and the other cast members from the first movie also returns.  This includes: Natalie Portman as Jane Foster; Tom HIddleston as Loki;Rene Russo as Frigga, Odin's wife; Anthony Hopkins as Odin, the King of Asgard; Stellan Skarsgård as Dr. Erik Selvig; Idris Elba as Heimdall the gatekeeper; and Kat Dennings as Darcy Lewis, Jane's research assistant.  Thor's friends are also present, namely: Ray Stevenson as Volstagg; Zachary Levi as Fandral; Tadanobu Asano as Hogun; and Jaimie Alexander as Sif.
