Captain America 2 The Winter Soldier News: Samuel Jackson’s Nick Fury Is A Liar; Robert Redford Plays Senior S.H.I.E.L.D. Leader

Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier will not be released until April 4 next year, but fans can have a sneak peek at what's going to happen, courtesy of some tidbits shared by the artists in the movie.  In an interview with USA Today, Samual Jackson a.k.a. Nick Fury offers some thoughts about his role in the film.

When asked, "When moviegoers see Nick in 'Winter Soldier' next year, what will they learn about him next?"

The 64-year old actor replied, "You see Nick Fury the office guy, him going about the day-to-day work of S.H.I.E.L.D. and the politics as opposed to that other stuff."

Nicky Fury, the office guy?  Jackson adds, "It's great to have him dealing with Captain America in terms of being able to speak to him soldier to soldier and try to explain to him how the world has changed in another way while he was frozen in time."

The one-eyed S.H.I.E.L.D. boss might find it great talking to the captain, but really, what does he tell the innocent and highly-morale superhero?  The Jedi cum Avengers boss said, "Nick lies to him all the time, too. (Laughs) But he's trying to help him navigate the waters of the new sharks that he doesn't know anything about."

Other than Jackson, the movie will bring back Chris Evans (of course) as Captain America/ Steve Rogers, and will feature Scarlett Joahnsson (Black Widow/ Natasha Romanoff) and Cobie Smulders (Agent Maria Hill).  The film also welcomes Sebastian Stan as Winter Soldier, Anthony Mackie as the Falcon, Frank Grillo as Crossbones, Emily VanCamp as Agent 13, and Hayley Atwell as Peggy Carter, Cap's love interest.

Veteran actor Robert Redford will also be in Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier, playing the role of Alexendar Pierce, a member of the World Security Council and a senior leader within S.H.I.E.L.D.
