American Horror Story's Ryan Murphy Talks End Date [VIDEO], Season 3, Charles Manson, And Glee

"American Horror Story: Coven" is currently filming in New Orleans for the highly anticipated season 3, and co-creator Ryan Murphy took the time to sit down with "The Writer's Room" to talk about the series.

"I always said I feel like the energy is the same for both shows, because they're both heightened," says Ryan Murphy in comparing "Glee" and "American Horror Story."

"They both burn through story very quickly. It feels like going from one group of daffy brothers and sisters to the next."

For "American Horror Story: Coven," Ryan Murphy is tackling the Salem witches as well as the voodoo priestesses.

An official plot synopsis has been released, giving us even more insight into the season.

"Over 300 years have passed since the turbulent days of the Salem witch trials and those who managed to escape are now facing extinction. Mysterious attacks have been escalating against their kind and young girls are being sent away to a special school in New Orleans to learn how to protect themselves."

"Wrapped up in the turmoil is new arrival, Zoe (Taissa Farmiga), who is harboring a terrifying secret of her own. Alarmed by the recent aggression, Fiona (Lange), the long-absent Supreme, sweeps back into town, determined to protect the Coven and hell-bent on decimating anyone who gets in her way."

But does "American Horror Story: Coven" mean the end of the series?

"I don't see an end to it. I love it. I love the whole process of it. I feel like it has a great renewal to it," continues Murphy.

"I love the dream time of it, you know when you're ready to sort of come up with a new one ... I really feel like, for me, it's something that I would love to keep doing as long as they let me."

And who knows, maybe next season of "American Horror Story" will tackle Charles Manson.

"I want to do an entire season about the [Charles] Manson case. But then we decided that wasn't respectful to the victims, and it's really hard to get life rights. So I went to the other idea, which was New Orleans witches that I've always been obsessed with," says Murphy.

"We might go back to the Manson thing in some regard one day. We spend a lot of time specifically trying to get the look and the tone of it right. Every year has a different tone."
