Relativity Media released a featurette of their new movie The Family which will star Robert De Niro and Michelle Pfeiffer.

Michelle Pfeiffer hasn't played in a gangster comedy since Married to the Mob. Robert De Niro hasn't done one since breakfast. They are teaming up for the mob-action-comedy The Family, about a family that has to move to France for witness protection. Witness protection? Robert De Niro's going to play a rat? There goes his street cred.

Relatativity Media is sharing a featurette for The Family, which opens on September 13.  The Family was directed by Luc Besson, who made The Fifth Element and The Professional. The screenplay was written by Luc Besson and Michael Caleo and is based on the book Badfellas by author Tonino Benacquista. Martin Scorsese and Tucker Tooley are executive producers.

Robert De Niro and Michelle Pfeiffer will play Fred and Maggie Blake, who used to be the Manzonis, a mob family that skips out to Normandy, France after De Nero, playing an ex-Mafia boss turns squealer.  The Blakes try to fit in, but they've lived in the Volcano all their lives.

A press release from Relativtiy says: "In the dark action comedy The Family, a Mafia boss and his family are relocated to a sleepy town in France under the Witness Protection Program after snitching on the mob. Despite Agent Stansfield's (Tommy Lee Jones) best efforts to keep them in line, Fred Blake (Robert De Niro), his wife Maggie (Michelle Pfeiffer) and their children, Belle (Dianna Agron) and Warren (John D'Leo), can't help resorting to old habits by handling their problems the "family" way. Chaos ensues as their former Mafia cronies try to track them down and scores are settled in the unlikeliest of settings, in this subversively funny film by Luc Besson."

The Family also stars Tommy Lee Jones, Dianna Agron and John D'Leo. The little Manzonis will be played by Dianna Agron and John D'Leo.
