"How I Met Your Mother" season 9 spoilers reveal that in episode 2, Barney is going to get quite a shock from his family, and Robin will be left wondering about how the news will affect Barney and their wedding.

"How I Met Your Mother" season 9 will premiere with two episodes back-to-back on CBS on Monday, September 23 at 8 p.m. We have previously reported about episode 1, "The Locket," in which the gang will be on their way to Long Island for Robin and Barney's wedding weekend. Lily confront Ted about his feelings for Robin and tell he needs to finally let her go to marry one of his best friends, IB Times reports.

Now a new spoiler reveals that in episode 2, "Coming Back," Barney's brother, James (Wayne Brady), reveals some shocking news: he's getting a divorce. Robin is immediately worried about how Barney will take the news, according to Spoiler TV, IB Times reports.

Spoiler TV notes that meanwhile, Marshall will continue to race to find a way to get to New York in time for the wedding, and Ted continues to be his hopeless romantic self, while dealing with being alone at a romantic hotel.

Guest stars Sherri Shepherd and "Desperate Housewives" star Roger Bart will make appearances, IB Times reports.

Shepherd is cast as a character who ends up on the same flight as Marshall, and Bart plays the front desk clerk at the hotel, according to Spoiler TV.

In other HIMYM news, a new promo trailer was released, revealing the antics of the gang, as well as the final slap of the slap bet.

"Someone is going to ruin this wedding," Robin says in the promo of "How I Met Your Mother" season 9, Aceshowbiz.com reports.

Barney adds, "It's just a question of who."

Marshall later declares in a plane: "I'm gonna ruin this wedding," but chances are an emotionally-vulnerable Ted could also be a suspect.
