Android Rumors 2013: Samsung To Replace Plastic Casing With Metal, Galaxy S5 First In Line

For a smartphone manufacturer such as Samsung, hearing the voice of your market is crucial in order to continue selling devices. Interestingly, in spite the company sticking to its old plastic phone panels, it is still the number mobile phone maker in the world.

What if it finally hears out what consumers have been complaining about these past few years?

According to reports from Phone Arena and GSM Arena, the Korean manufacturing giant might finally change its preferred material for phone casings. Reports from Korean website ET News say there has been rumors pointing to that scenario - Samsung ditching plastic for aluminum or magnesium. In addition, earlier reports also say it also plans to use carbon fiber.

And you ask which Samsung would get it first? Probably the Galaxy S5.

As a new beginning for the Korean company, 'testing' a metal-clad flagship in the market would be a great option since it probably would not sacrifice sales in case people don't like it (and I bet there is none). The report also said once it has been used in the upcoming Samsung phone next year, it would eventually become the staple phone case for its mid and lower range units.

We just hope Samsun finally dismisses questions about its phone's build quality and design, and finally get metal parts for its smartphones.

I can just imagine how it will be the company's final step to edge out Apple for good.
