Upcoming Android Phones 2013: Taiwanese Manufacturer To Announce New Mid-range Phone HTC Desire 601

HTC may be done with flagship models for this year with the One Max, but they are not taking any chances in the midrange department. Recent leaks from tech blog GSM Arena showed what appeared to be a smaller but thinner phone. EV Leaks confirmed this in a tweet as the HTC Desire 601.

Also known as the HTC Zara, the Desire 601 will feature modest specifications to satisfy its midrange selling price. It will pack in a 4.5" qHD display and a Snapdragon MSM8930 processor with two 1.2 Ghz Krait cores, and run on 1GB of RAM. The Taiwanese manufacturer's rumored smartphone will also have an 8MP primary camera, 8GB expandable memory, Sense 5.5, and Android 4.3 Jellybean out of the box.

In another leaked image, HTC might also announce a smaller version of the Zara/Desire 601. Dubbed as the HTC Zara Mini, it would run with specifications similar with the larger one, with only a downgrade on screen size and camera resolution.

Here are the leaked photos of the Desire 601 (above), and Zara Mini (below):

The IFA event is fast approaching, and GSM Arena reported that an announce of these two droids alongside the HTC One Max is highly likely.
