Pokemon X And Y Gameplay Demo Confirms Gender Differences [VIDEO]: How Many Will Join Pikachu In The Kalos Pokedex?

With Pokemon X and Y just a month away from its release, another bit of news has come from the gameplay demo regarding the upcoming Pokedex: Gender.

Despite the fact that Pokemon has given gender assignments since earlier generations, one thing that fans have been wondering is if Pokemon X and Y will give the 3D models visual differences based on gender.

Given the Pokemon X and Y demo, the one Pokemon who's been given such a treatment is Pikachu, so the answer is a resounding yes!

In the video below, fans can see a female Pikachu, as compared to the male Pikachu in the image above.

See the difference? The tail for a male Pikachu is rectangular, while the tale for a female Pikachu has curves.

It has also been confirmed that Pikachu within the Pokemon X and Y gameplay demo has exhibited two cries. Whether this is based on gender, or if it is a mechanism built into X and Y for all the Pokedex monsters is unconfirmed.

If fans will remember, Pokemon Black and White only had Unfezant, Frillish, and Jellicent with major gender differences, so maybe more will join Pokemon X and Y!
