On Monday while E.L. James announced the leads for the "50 Shades Of Grey" movie, Bret Easton Ellis revealed Robert Pattinson was first pick for the Christian Grey role.
The "American Psycho" creator took to Twitter on Labor Day to spread this information.
"Talked to E.L. James at a party over the summer: her first choice for Christian was Rob Pattinson and Matt Bomer was never in the running," tweeted Ellis.
While he divulged that Bomer wasn't even considered, Ellis also said Ian Somerhalder wasn't in the running.
"E.L. James and I were at Rob Pattinson's house when she admitted that Rob was first choice for Christian. Ian Somerhalder never in running," he tweeted.

The "Rules Of Attraction" author added that James did ask for his opinion on who should play Grey.
When E.L. James asked me who I thought should be Christian I said "James Deen, of course" and then she shoved me. We were both very wasted.

James brought in Labor Day by announcing on Twitter who her final picks were for the roles of Anastasia and Christian.
“I am delighted to let you know that the lovely Dakota Johnson has agreed to be our Anastasia in the film adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey,” she wrote Monday afternoon. “The gorgeous and talented Charlie Hunnam will be Christian Grey in the film adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey.”
