Peru will face off against Uruguay in a FIFA World Cup Brazil 2014 qualifier match on Friday, pitting two of South America's most followed teams against each other.

Uruguay made headlines throughout their time in the last FIFA World Cup 2010 in South Africa for their fourth-place rank, but is struggling to earn a slot within net-year's tournament.

Peru is currently in seventh place within the CONMEBOL, trailing behind Venezuela and ahead of Bolivia. Garnering 14 points within the qualifying round, Peru will seek to earn a fifth-place slot.
