Ford Recall 2013 List: Years, Makes, Models Affected [VIDEO]; 370,000 Vehicles Recalled For Steering Column Corrosion; Recall Information Available Here

The Ford Recall List 2013 is affecting a lot of different years makes and models of Ford cars.  370,000 vehicles are affected by the Ford recall list in 2013. 

The Ford Recall 2013 years makes and models affected list includes 2005 to 2011 Ford Crown Victoria models, 2005 to 2011 Lincoln Town Car models and 2005 to 2011 Mercury Grand Marquis models. Affected states include Connecticut, Delaware, the District of Columbia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wisconsin, where the cars were originally sold or are now registered.

The recall will affect 355,000 cars in the United States and also 15,000 vehicles in Canada. The voluntary recall is due to severe corrosion that can affect the steering column.  This could cause a loss in steering control that increases the risk of a crash or accident.

Owners of years makes and models affected by the Ford Recall list 2013 can contact Ford dealers for replacement.  Others who have years makes and models affected by the Ford Recall list, but who are not in the states affected, can request an inspection to ensure that their vehicle is not affected by the same problem as the Ford Recall list in 2013.

The recall statement said: "Severe corrosion can seize the lower intermediate shaft which may cause the upper intermediate shaft to collapse and the steering column lower bearing to separate."

The Ford recall 2013 is expected to begin Oct. 21.

Ford will notify owners of vehicles makes models and years affected by the Ford Recall List and dealers will replace the lower intermediate shaft, free of charge. The upper intermediate shaft and steering column lower bearing will be inspected, identifying any damage that may have occurred as a result of lower intermediate shaft corrosion.  It will be repaired or replaced as necessary. A retainer clip will be installed if the steering column lower bearing has separated.
