With their new album soon to be released this September, MGMT admitted that they weren't even sure it would be music they would listen to.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, the duo revealed their new album "MGMT" was very impulsive.

"I don't even know if it's music we would want to listen to," said Andrew VanWyngarden, the bands front man. "It's just what's coming out of us. We didn't make a single compromise."

Speaking of not compromising, MGMT opened up about how disappointed their were that other artists were so concerned with using music for marketing purposes when they were signed to a major label.

"So many musicians have this really commercial sensibility about everything," said Ben Goldwasser, the other member of MGMT. "That made me really disgusted. Looking at music as a product, talking about what we were doing like a brand? We had never thought about music that way."

The pair added that they didn't take well to their fast rise to fame following the release of their first album "Oracular Spectacular."

"If you want to see the most uncomfortable people in the world, watch our red-carpet interviews at the Grammys in 2010. It got out of control," said VanWyngarden.

Last month the group released the new video for "Your Life Is A Lie," the first single off their new album "MGMT."
