Sony Xperia Z Ultra Release Date: Leaked Info Reveal Impressive Specs Of New Device, First Hand Review Gives Superb Rating Minus The Size

Sony Xperia Z Ultra release date is expected to be tomorrow, right before the IFA consumer show in Berlin. The specs of the rumored handset from a leaked press release by the Xperia blog show that it has a 5-inch 1980 x 1080 resolution “Triluminous” HD display and Qualcomm’s brand new Snapdragon 800 processor MSM8974 2.2GHz quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM.

The new handset will also have 16GB internal storage (with expandable micro SD card slot), and a beefy 3,000 mAh battery, reported Phandroid based on the leaked document by Xperia blog.

All of this crammed into a device measuring 144x74x8.5mm, with a weigh of 170 grams.

According to rumors, Sony’s packing the Xperia Z1 with a 20.7 MP 1/2.3-inch Exymor RS CMOS sensor. It will have a 24 mm wide angle lens with a quick f2.0 processor. Sony said that the suite of apps to go with the Xperia Z has capabilities for Timeshift, AR effect, and more.

The Xperia blog has effectively removed the surprise for the Xperia Z, but U.K.’s The Independent claimed that it’s the first media entity to get their hands on the device has nothing but glowing reviews for it except for its size.

It wrote that the only downside with the Xperia Z is that “you feel a bit of a chump squeezing it against your ear to make a phone call.”

The Independent said that Sony’s take on Android “is as accomplished and stylish as ever” and that the items has “demurely coloured icons contrasting strongly with, say, Samsung’s super bright elements.”

It will be an exciting time to see how things will work tomorrow, but based on all the leaks as well as the first initial review, Sony is positioned to make a dent with its very own iPhone-killer in the coming weeks.
