Ariel Castro dead: Cleveland kidnapper and rapist to three different women, for over 10 years, killed himself while serving a life-sentence plus 1,000 years sentence in prison.

He was found dead by hanging himself with a bed sheet on Tuesday. Ariel Castro was the Cleveland kidnapper who held three different women and a child captive since 2002.

Ariel Castro was found dead while staying at the Correctional Reception Center in Orient. Prison medical staff tried to save the Cleveland kidnapper, but failed to revive him. He was taken to the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 10:52 p.m., according to CNN.

"These degenerate molesters are cowards," Timothy J. McGinty, the prosecutor, said in a statement. "... This man couldn't take, for even a month, a small portion of what he had dished out for more than a decade."

Michelle Knight, 21, Georgina DeJesus, 14,  and Amanda Berry, 16 and her six-year-old daughter was the three women held captive. It wasn't until Berry and her daughter escaped one day and called the police, which saved them from any more torture.

On July 26, 2013, Castro pleaded guilty to 937 criminal counts of rape, kidnapping, and aggravated murder, as part of a plea bargain. He was subsequently sentenced to life in prison without the chance of parole, plus 1,000 years.

Castro ran into trouble with his ex-wife, Grimilda Figueroa. He threw her down stairs and beat her numerous of times until he was arrested. He did again after Figueroa moved out of their home and took their four children with her.

In the workforce, Castro had some trouble as well. Castro worked as a bus driver for the Cleveland Metropolitan School District for 21 years, from February 1991 until he was fired for "bad judgment" in November 2012 after a series of issues including making an illegal U-turn with children on the bus, using his bus to go grocery shopping, leaving a child on the bus while he went for lunch, and finally for leaving the bus unattended while he took a nap at home
