Also known as Honami, the device was unveiled by the Japanese manufacturer during the IFA event in Berlin on Wednesday.

Measuring only 8.5mm thick, the Z1 was sure to get the attention of bloggers, analysts, and consumers during the event. But that's not all about this high-end smartphone.

The smartphone's primary snapper also boasts 20 megapixels and 1080 video recording, though it does not support 4K recording as what was previously rumored.

In addition, the Xperia Z1 borrows a number of features from its predecessor, the Xperia Z.

The phone is also made out of a unibody design, a 5" 1080p screen, better performance in underwater conditions, 4G and LTE connectivity, and 3,000mAh of juice for lasting use.
