Simon Cowell and his pregnant baby mama Lauren Silverman are expecting a baby boy in February, The New York Daily News reports.

"He is over the moon to be having a son," a source told the website.

"They've known for a while!" one insider revealed to Us Weekly of the news that Simon Cowell and Lauren Silverman are having a son.

The baby's due date is in February, according to various reports.

Over the weekend, the first-time dad-to-be gushed about catching a glimpse of his unborn son via a recent sonogram.

"You literally see this thing which is now alive moving around," the normally-tough "X Factor" judge said to the Times of London on September 2, Us Weekly reports.

"I feel very paternal right now. So I am very happy," he said.

But he quickly added: "I can assure you: I won't go soft."

"I am good with kids because I like kids," he told the BBC. "I really do like them and I listen to them. Once I got used to [the idea of becoming a father] I did get excited. I think I will be a good dad!"

The baby due in February will be the second son for Simon's pregnant baby mama Lauren Silverman. Cowell and Silverman began their relationship while she was still married to Cowell's friend Andrew Silverman.

Lauren and Andrew, who were married for 10 years, settled their divorce on August 14. They have a son, 7-year-old Adam, Us Weekly reports.

"It was a surprise initially and some of the circumstances around this were very uncomfortable to say the least, but it happened and she's an incredible girl," Cowell recently confessed to Neil Fox on British radio station Magic FM, The New York Daily News reports.

"Then once I got used to the idea that I was going to be a dad, then I was really happy."
