U.S. Billboard gave high praise to Big Bang G-Dragon's new solo album.

On September 4, Billboard released an online article talking about his second solo album, COUP D'ETAT.

They stated that G-Dragon had the opportunity to work with famous producers Diplo, Baauer as well as famous rapper Missy Elliot, singer Sky Ferreira and other top stars for his album.

They also stated, "'COUP D'ETAT' is a style of music where G-Dragon was able to portray his emotions and his style of music. With this new song, he has shocked us with his music style."

They also praised many of his other songs, showing a successful start to his new album.

Billboard also commented that G-Dragon stood out from other K-pop artists and that he could easily be a star in the west as well.

On the other hand, he will be releasing songs, "Window" and another version of  "Black" on September 13.
