Minecraft TU13 Release Date: Inspires Next Generation Consoles? 4J Studios Game Releases PS4, Xbox One Version Based On New Title Update

Minecraft is headed to the Playstation 4, Playstation 3, PS Vita and Xbox One this year after being exclusive to the Xbox 360 on consoles since its release in May 2012, Examiner.com reports.

4J Studios is currently working on porting the game to the platforms and confirmed Tuesday which version of the popular open-world sandbox title they will start with, the website also reports.

"The underlying code will be the same version across all consoles, so at least Xbox 360's TU13 equivalent," the developer posted on Twitter.

4J Studios announced that TU13 for Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition has been handed over to Microsoft for certification testing, leaving gamers wondering if the developer will release the game within the next few days.

The developer also announced that the first texture pack is the Plastic Texture Pack and that the second texture pack is the Natural Texture Pack.

The developer also announced that the title update will serve to eliminate bugs and glitches that were present in TU12 and won't take as long to release.

They also made the clarification as part of a fan response. "We're finishing up on TU13 (bug fix update) this week. Then it just needs to go through testing."

4J Studios has released the TU12 update for Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition, but some gamers awaiting the release of TU13 are wondering if bug fixes and increased cart speed will be the only new modifications.

Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition's TU12 update made headlines for the amount of bugs and glitches that were discovered by gamers around the world.
