Xbox One Release Date And Price: 2014 Japan Launch Date Upsets Gamers? Microsoft Spokesman Apologizes For Delayed Availability

Microsoft corporate vice president Phil Spencer reaffirmed that Microsoft remains dedicated to tackling the console market in Japan, even though the Xbox One is launching later in Japan than the rest of the world, Polygon.com reports.

"It will come out 2014 in Japan," Spencer said.

"We'll announce details like the date and price once the time is right. The Xbox One is an extremely complete hardware platform. When we release it in a market as important as Japan, we want to be able to release it in its complete form, including local partnerships and language support. We need time to accomplish that no matter what, so we decided that we wouldn't make the November 22 [worldwide launch] date."

Microsoft has also announced that the Xbox One's HDMI pass-through allows gamers to use the Playstation 4 though the console.

"Any application can be snapped to a game...this could be the live TV feed, so if you wanted to be playing Ryse and Killzone at the same time, you could snap that," Xbox Senior Director Albert Panello mentioned in an interview with Gamespot.com.

The HDMI input on the Xbox One is mainly intended for your cable or satellite box - users will be able to plug the HDMI output from those boxes into the Xbox One, which then sends a combined signal to the television over a single HDMI cable, Time.com reports.

With the PS4 and Xbox One release dates set for November, buyers of those next-generation consoles are wondering if the year's hottest game, GTA 5, will ever become available to them, GottaBeMobile.com reports.

While nothing is confirmed, at least one analyst believes that GTA 5 for Xbox One and PS4 is likely to arrive on shelves sometime next year, GottaBeMobile.com also reports.
