When recently discussing her sexually promiscuous role in the 1995 movie "Kids," Rosario Dawson revealed that she didn't have sex until she was age 20.

Making an appearance Tuesday on HuffPost Live with host Ricky Camilleri to advocate the Purple Purse and The Allstate Foundation during Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Dawson also discussed her experience doing the film "Kids."

The way the actress received a role in the movie, written by Harmony Korine, was based on chance.

"I got spotted on the street. I auditioned. I worked on it for four days," Dawson said, while revealing she didn't even bother telling many people about the film after being cast.

During the 90s, "Kids" sparked a lot of controversy due to its adaptation of New York teenagers partaking in drug use and unprotected sex.

Dawson's character in the movie was very sexually promiscuous. However, she admitted that her parents were more concerned with the depiction of drug use.

"With all the insanity that my character goes through, the only thing they cared about was not smoking," she joked.

Although being fully committed to the role she got at age 15, Dawson couldn't relate to it in real life. Unlike her character, it would be years later when she lost her virginity.

"I didn't even have sex until I was 20," Dawson said. "My mom was a teenage mom, I was deathly afraid of being a teenage mom."
