iPhone 5S Sales: iOS Market Dips By 1.26% In Spite iPhone Launch, Android Up By 1.31%

This may not be good news for Apple as iPhone 5S sales was not enough to keep the iOS market share stagnant at least.

According to web-watcher Net Applications, traffic and sales from iOS devices dropped from 54.91 percent in August to 53.65 percent in September. Considering that Apple sold over nine million iPhone 5s and 5c units during its first weekend, the iOS share of the pie still dropped.

Meanwhile, Google's Android has steadily increased its mobile market share over the last couple of months, now up by 1.31 percent from 28.12 percent to 29.43 percent during the past month.

On the other hand, Blackberry continues to slip down from 3.28 percent to 3.26 percent of the market. Symbian was surprisingly strong with a 1.22-percent climb from 3.26 in August to 4.48 last month.

Does this mean the iPhone 5S failed? We still can't tell as other countries are still awaiting shipments of the new iPhones.
