Those who own a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 3G + Wifi variant can now install the official Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update.

The official Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean firmware has recently been rolled out by Samsung for the international 3G and Wifi edition of the Galaxy Note 10.1 with model number GT-N8000, as reported by IB Times. The official firmware XXCMI2 based on the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean can be installed through the OTA or Over-the-Air update or through the Samsung KIES. The firmware is available for the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 owners located in Germany.

However, since the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean firmware with build number XXCMI2 is an unbranded version, those who use Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 residing outside Germany can opt to install the update through the manual installation process using Odin flashing tool. The unbranded firmware can be used on any Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 unit with model number GT-N8000.

There are pre-requisites, however, when installing the official Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update and some of them are located below:

• The Galaxy Note 10.1 should have at least 80 percent battery level before installing the official Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update.
• Install the appropriate USB drivers for the Galaxy tablet to connect it on your computer easily.
• Use custom recovery tool like the TWRP or the ClockWorkMod to create a backup of the settings and data stored on your Galaxy Note 10.1.
• Enable USB Debugging mode on your device.
• Check the model number of your device by going to Settings>About Tablet > Model Number. The XXCMI2 firmware is only applicable for the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 3G + Wifi version with model number GT-N8000.
