Casey Kasem , 81, is caught amidst family feud with his kids staging a protest outside his Holmby Hills residence to meet their ailing father.

According to NY Daily News, the three eldest kids of Casey are protesting along with other relatives and Casey’s colleagues. In her statement to the media, Kerri Kasem, Casey’s daughter said that her step-mom Jean Kasem is not allowing them to meet their father.

"My dad is very sick, and we have been completely shut off from him for the last three months," Kerri Kasem said, adding, "There is no money issue here, we just want to see our dad. We love him, and everyone knows his kids and grandkids are a source of joy for him," NYDailyNews reported.

DJ Casey Kasem of American Top 40 Countdown fame is suffering from advanced Parkinson’s Disease and has been maintaining a low profile since quite some time. His kids claimed that their step mom has forbidden them from meeting Casey, not even letting them enter the house.

Today also, Jean called the cops to subdue the protest and hold Casey’s kids, relatives, friends and colleagues at bay, citing them as ‘threat’. Casey’s brother, who was present outside his house, told TMZ that Jean is not on good terms with the kids, adding that he has not spoken to his DJ brother ever since he married Jean.

Just for information, Casey married Jean in 1980. This means Casey and his brother have not spoken in the last 33 years. The reports and claims about embittered relations may or may not be true; one cannot come to conclusions without hearing Jean’s part of the story.

Jean Casey was unavailable for comment even as Casey’s kids continued imploring the media to convey that they love their dad and want to meet him.
