Samuel L. Jackson Confirms That the Olsen Twins Younger Sister Elizabeth Olsen Will Play Scarlet Witch in `Avengers: Age of Ultron’

Samuel L. Jackson has confirmed that Elizabeth Olsen, the younger sister of the famous Olsen Twins, Mary-Kate and Ashley, has been cast as Scarlet Witch in “Avengers: Age of Ultron”

Marvel hasn’t made any official announcements yet, but Samuel L. Jackson told the Wall Street Journal that Elizabeth Olsen is joining the cast of The Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Samuel L. Jackson, who plays Nick Fury in “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” told the Wall Street Journal: “I know we’re shooting in London, that James Spader is Ultron and going to be the bad guy, and that we added Ms. [Elizabeth] Olsen, but I don’t know what she’s doing, if she’s on the inside or the outside. I haven’t seen a script.”

Deadline confirmed that Samuel L. Jackson has the inside dirt on the Elizabeth Olsen “Avengers: Age of Ultron” casting.

A source told Deadline that the Olsen Twins’ younger sister was very close to closing her deal to appear in The Avengers: Age Of Ultron, saying that it is “just a matter of formality before it’s done.”

Wanda Maximof’s brother, Quicksilver, will be played by Aaron Tyler-Johnson, who did the "Kick-Ass" movies. Aaron Taylor-Johnson, the Kick-Ass star, played in “Nowhere Boy” and “Savages” by Oliver Stone. Elizabeth Olsen will also play along with Chris Hemsworth, Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Samuel L Jackson, and Scarlett Johannson.

Elizabeth Olsen isn’t as famous as the Olsen Twins but is making name for herself in such films as “Martha Marcy May Marlene.” Elizabeth Olsen is currently working on the new Godzilla movie.

Critics loved Elizabeth Olsen for her role in "Martha Marcy May Marlene" from 2011. Elizabeth Olsen will next appear in Spike Lee's remake of the Japanese horror film "Oldboy." Elizabeth Olsen will also play in Gareth Edwards’ reboot of Godzilla. According to published reports, Elizabeth Olsen is going to have to use a “European” accent for the role.

Sources told Bleeding Cool's Brendon Connelly that Marvel comics and director Joss Whedon are seriously looking at Elizabeth Olsen for the role of the Scarlet Witch, also known as Wanda Maximof. The part was originally set to be played by Saoirse Ronan, who was Joss Whedon’s first choic, but she bowed out.

"Avengers: Age of Ultron" is set to hit theaters in May 2015.
