"The Vampire Diaries" season 5 premiered last night, and now we are anxiously awaiting episode 2. Will Elena find out Stefan is missing and Damon is lying to her about him? Read on to find out spoilers about Elena, Stefan, and Damon in episode 2 of "The Vampire Diaries" season 5.

Will Elena find out in episode 2 of season 5 that Stefan is missing from Mystic Falls in "The Vampire Diaries," but more importantly that Damon has been lying to her while he tries to find Stefan himself?

Most likely Elena will find out, according to a new extended promo/spoiler clip, which you can watch below.

The spoiler clip for episode 2, titled "True Lies," features Damon upset that Stefan's been suffering while he's been having a great time with Elena all summer. Damon will be potentially teaming up with Sheriff Forbes in an attempt to find Stefan, IB Times reports.

"Stefan's been drowning over and over again all summer long while I've been playing house with Elena," Damon admits in the clip.

But perhaps this doesn't go as planned, because another scene in the spoiler clip shows Elena weeping over Stefan's suffering, insisting that she has to help Damon with his search, meaning that she will find out Damon lied to her, and that her ex-boyfriend is missing.

"Stefan's been reaching out to me," Elena says, choked up. "He's in a lot of pain. We have to find him."

Looks like Damon and Elena will have one thing in common in episode 2: guilt.

But will it be too late for Stefan?

According to IB Times, in the premiere, called "I Know What You Did Last Summer," we found out that Stefan's been drowning in the lake all summer. Stefan has been having hallucinations, and imaginary conversations with Damon about turning off his humanity in an attempt to not feel any misery.

By the time Damon and Elena find him, will it be too late to save Stefan's humanity?
