"Fifty Shades of Grey" cast has had a lot of buzz surrounding it, especially since Charlie Hunnam was cast as Christian Grey. But did Charlie Hunnam struggle with the role of Christian Grey in "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie adaptation? And what made him decide to stay with the role?

Fans have had a very active voice in the cast of "Fifty Shades of Grey," making fake movie trailers with their favorite male actors as Christian Grey and even creating a petition once they found out the role was going to Charlie Hunnam.

Now, "Sons of Anarchy" creator and producer Kurt Sutter, who works with the 33-year-old actor on the show, said Charlie Hunnam struggled with the idea of the role of Christian Grey, IB Times reports.

"We had a couple long creative conversations about what the role was, what it meant," Sutter said in a recent interview with Vulture. "He [Hunnam] struggled with it because obviously there's a lot of noise around that role. There's a lot of predetermined expectations."

Sutter claims it was his advice that eventually led Hunnam to accept the role of Christian Grey. "My advice to him was: Look at the material. Don't look at the history. Don't look at where it potentially could be going. Look at the material and look at the people you're working with. If it makes sense, then move forward."

Later, Sutter added, "I think that's what he did."

Sutter's comments follow recent rumors that Hunnam was considering dropping out of "Fifty Shades of Grey," due to fans' protests and a petition to get the series' author E.L. James to recast.

However, other reports claims these rumors are false, and that Hunnam is still on board to star in the film. Ironically, since these rumors surfaced, fans of the trilogy erotica series have expressed their happiness over his decision to continue with the project, IB Times reports.
