Benedict Cumberbatch is the sexiest man in the world according to Empire magazine, but Benedict Cumberbatch, as far as we know, doesn't have a girlfriend. What does the sexy single man look for in a girlfriend?

Benedict Cumberbatch, who recently was in "Star Trek," topped Empire magazine's list of "100 Sexiest Movie Stars," alongside Emma Watson.

And though Benedict Cumberbatch was recently connected to 'Downton Abbey' actress Laura Carmichael, it seems the sexiest man in the world is still single and doesn't have a serious girlfriend.

So what is Benedict Cumberbatch looking for in a lady?

"A woman who knows that she doesn't have to get all decked out to look good is sexy," Cumberbatch said, according to Entertainmentwise.

"A woman who can make you feel smart with her conversation skills is also sexy. I believe the sense of humor is important," he added.

But Benedict revealed that he is not ready for marriage yet.

"It is a wonderful thing to get married young and become a father. I used to think that I'd get married in my mid-30s and have children. But now I think I can wait. I'm no longer in a hurry to get married," Cumberbatch continued, who is 37 years old.

But that doesn't mean the "Sherlock" actor and "Star Trek" star isn't open to having a girlfriend. He says he would want a real relationship.

"I would like to first get to know the partner and build a trusting relationship before making the commitment."
