David Price vs John Lackey will be the pitching matchups. Price pitched a complete game on game 163 in the tiebreaker against the Texas Rangers. He got Tampa to this series and he gives it another go against the veteran Lackey for the Red Sox.

Lackey is 3-4 with a 3.12 ERA in 14 outings (12 starts). Price is 10-6 with a 2.93 ERA in 20 career starts against the Red Sox, and he's been even better at Fenway, where he has a 6-1 record and 1.88 ERA.

The Red Sox won game-one 9-2, though they know it won't be easy to get to where they want to be.

"You've truly got to play like your back is against the wall every single game,"  Red Sox left fielder Jonny Gomes, who delivered a key two-run double in the fourth inning told MLB.com. "We talked about it earlier with momentum in the playoffs, and that pretty much is what wins games, is momentum. We can't take our foot off the gas pedal."

Teams that have gone up 2-0 in the ALDS 22 times and advanced in 18 of them, though the manager believes rest can be all the difference.

"I've also learned one other thing, or main thing regarding baseball: Twenty-four hours can make a huge difference," Rays manager Joe Maddon, whose club won three consecutive elimination games in three different cities just to get to this series told MLB.com. "That's just one game, baby. That's just one. We'll be back tomorrow, I promise you. We'll be ready to play. We will not be affected mentally by tonight's game.
