The highly-rumored next-generation Apple smartphone is already here - the iPhone 5S. So now, it is time to see its differences and similarities with its predecessor, the iPhone 5.

The older model is equipped with A6 processor while the iPhone 5S has Apple A7 with 64-bit architecture. Both the devices have 8 MP sensor for its primary camera, while their front-facing camera is equipped with 1.2 megapixels.

Moreover, the iPhone 5 battery is packed with 1440 mAh, capable of 8 hours of talk time (3G) while the iPhone 5S has slightly larger battery capacity, which is 1570 mAh, offering 10 hours of talk time. iPhone 5 and iPhone 5s both arrived with aluminum body with glass inlays and glass front, as posted on Trusted Reviews.

One of the big improvements given to the iPhone 5S is the fingerprint sensor, which acts as an additional security feature for the device.

As posted on Venture Beat, the iPhone 5S which is equipped with 64-bit processor is faster than the iPhone 5 when it comes to unlocking, running benchmarks and booting, however, "not much faster in real-world applications," as the video suggests.  The post also stated that the "64-bit is more about tomorrow than it is about today."

Morever, as cited on the post, Tom Richardson told, "In real-world testing, most of the [apps] are very similar. The iPhone 5 is definitely no slouch ... there's only so much you can improve on an already very quick app launch."
