Big Bang's Taeyang is getting amped up for his solo comeback on November 1 and he has a whole new look to show his fans.

Taeyang is as known for his hair as he is for his singing and dancing talents as a member of one of K-Pop's hottest groups, Big Bang.

Fans who have been following the group since their debut seven years ago have seen the R&B vocalist sport some very unique hairstyles over the years - corn rows, a mohawk, a pigtails, just to name a few.

Now, as Taeyang gets ready for his second solo album release (third total), he has unveiled perhaps his biggest makeover yet.

In a recent ELLE Magazine pictorial, Taeyang shows off an unkempt silvery fauxhawk.

The pictures show the singer taking on an edgy, hard rock look - whether he is sitting among rubbish in a warehouse, screaming into a microphone, or cooly gazing into the camera.

The images at first are a little jarring and surprised many fans who did not recognize the Big Bang member immediately. But the transformation has raised the level of anticipation for his comeback exponentially.

What does the new look mean for the upcoming album?

Taeyang's agency, YG Entertainment, previously said that the Big Bang member played a huge role in the creation and production of the songs for his new album and many are now expecting him to kick up things up and deliver some hard-hitting beats.

A far cry from his last release that was mostly made up of straightforward R&B tracks, the ELLE photos suggest Taeyang has matured and will venture into uncharted territory - much like his best friend and fellow Big Bang member G-Dragon did last month with his second solo album Coup D'etat which played around with a variety of different genres.

At any rate, Taeyang definitely has our interest piqued and we will know for certain what he has up his sleeve come November 1.
