Apple WWDC 2014: 7 Devices We Did Not See During Apple's Developers Event

During the keynote at the beginning of the Apple WWDC 2014, thousands of people were expecting a lot of releases and announcements from the Cupertino manufacturer. However, it turned out that Apple wants to focus only on its software announcements.

In case you missed WWDC 2014 and you thought you might have missed a lot, don't worry. Apple has just unveiled an update for both the OS X and iOS which would soon change the way how these two platforms work with one another. And when that time comes, it will certainly be revolutionary.

Meanwhile, here are the devices which did not make the cut nor appear during the WWDC in San Francisco.

1. New MacBook Lineup

A lot of people did not expect the MacBook Pro to get a Retina upgrade at the WWDC, but later in October. However, the MacBook Air was certainly expected, especially with its rumored 12-inch version plus Retina display. Unfortunately, no such hardware was present during the event.

2. iMac

The iMac still has no updates yet, and Apple may have overlooked its hardware while it focused on other 'trending' devices we have been hearing lately. Hopefully, the iMac gets an update later this year.

3. Apple iWatch

If you have been keeping track with rumors, then the Apple wearable device should not be missed. Unfortunately, all we can see about this device are still rumors and concepts. But the launch of the HealthBook feature in the new version of iOS is certainly a step towards the impending announcement of the iWatch.

4. Apple TV

After waiting for a long time, fans of the Apple TV are still disappointed to know that the company has not made any updates nor announcements. However, some rumors are claiming that the upcoming version of the Apple TV would be touch-enabled, but we wouldn't believe any unless we see them in the flesh.

5. Mac Mini

Since 2012, no updates were made by Apple for its portable mini computer, and it looks like the Cupertino manufacturer will slowly ditch it out from its hardware lineup. Still, here's hoping that there would be an update for the Mac Mini before the year ends.

6. iPhone 6

No, no new iPhones were present during the event. In fact, reports show that even prototype devices which could have been secretly squeezed within the event were not present. Still, we are hoping that we get to see the actual iPhone 6 soon and not just mockups. The new Apple smartphone is tipped to get a 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch version as confirmed by Foxconn in a press release earlier this year.

7. iPad Air, iPad mini

Both the iPad Air and iPad mini Retina made their debut in October last year so it was expected that they would not make an appearance this early in the game. Let us wait and see in the next few months whether the 2nd generation iPad mini Retina and iPad Air would carry out Apple's legacy in the slate department.
