Android 4.4.3 Kit Kat Release Date: 3 Things You Should Know

In case you haven't been checking out the latest Android news lately, you may surprised that Google already held the Android 4.4.3 Kit Kat release a couple of days ago, and it is now available in some devices, particularly those in the Nexus and GPE lineups.

So what's new about this particular version of Android?

1. Bug Fixes

According to the report by Greenbot, the 4.4.3 version of KitKat is primarily a maintenance update that aims to solve bugs and improve the OS's overall performance among devices. There is particular focus on the camera features and functions of the Nexus 5, which has been plagued with all sorts of issues as reported by its users. Let us wait and see whether the 'camera drain' bug has been solved.

2. New Dialer And People App

In the report, the newest version of Android brings in a new Dialer app, as well as a redesigned People app to tune them to KitKat's minimalist design. However, for people who do not use Nexus devices or for those who flash custom ROMs to their smartphones, chances are they would not get to see the changes as OEMs and custom ROMs usually use their own Dialer and People versions.

3. Where Is It Available?

In the report, the new update will roll out in the latest Nexus devices, including the Nexus 10, Nexus 7, and the Nexus 4 and 5. The update has also been reported to have begun arriving in Google Play Edition devices which include the HTC One, HTC One M8, Samsung Galaxy S4, and Sony Xperia Z Ultra. Motorola has also made an announcement that its current smartphone lineup which include the Moto X, Moto G, and Moto E would get the update. As for other devices, the release date should depend on your manufacturer and carrier.
