Top Android Phones 2014: The LG G3 Against The World - Of Android Flagships

It was just under a week since the LG G3 made its debut, yet it has already made quite a fuzz in its home market in Korea where it reportedly reached 100,000 units sold. But just how good (or great) is the new LG high-end smartphone when compared to the current heavyweights in the Android platform?

Vs. HTC One M8

HTC is certainly a contender for any high-end smartphone because of its premium build and design. While the One M8 is ahead in this category by a small margin due to its aluminum build, the G3 trumps it in all other categories such as display, RAM, CPU speed, and the camera.

Vs. Samsung Galaxy S5

The Samsung flagship is the ideal rival for the LG G3 when it comes to total sales around the world. Having been released only in March, the Galaxy S5 already notched millions of sales in spite its 'gimmicky' features and uninspiring perforated back cover. However, spec-wise, the G3 is still superior in most areas aside from the camera (13MP<16MP).

Vs. Sony Xperia Z2

The Xperia Z2 is not yet available in markets outside of Japan and Europe as Sony previously said in a statement that it would be focusing its marketing campaigns on the two regions. The Xperia Z2's design is on another level with its glass case and OmniBalance build that makes it such a joy to hold. However, it is one of the few Android flagships who can hold its own against the G3's 3GB of RAM. As far as display goes though, the LG phone is still the clear winner.

Vs. Oppo Find 7

At last a worthy contender for the LG G3 as far as specs are concerned. While Oppo has not yet established itself as a world leader, its consistent development of stunning and impressively spec'd smartphones is slowly putting the company among the top brands in the Android market. The Find 7's 5.5-inch QHD display, 3GB RAM and 13MP shooter matches that of the G3. Unfortunately, the Chinese brand has had the not-so-good reputation of pricing its smartphones too steeply.
