The 2014 NBA Free Agency Rumors & Predictions will still revolve around the Sun of Love. The demands are still the same: a team that has a chance of winning or at least make the playoffs.

The Phoenix Suns were just ahead of the Minnesota Timberwolves as they also failed to make the playoffs. Why would Love choose them?

Here are the assets that could make up the package the Suns can offer according to ESPN:

Pitch: Phoenix can offer the Wolves cheap, young talent (the Morris twins, Green, Goodwin, Plumlee) and lots of picks, including Minnesota's own top-12 protected first-rounder that is owed to Phoenix and the Lakers' top-five protected pick in 2015. Phoenix has enormous cap flexibility to accept extra toxic deals (note: Frye can be included only if he chooses to opt-in to the last year of his deal). In Phoenix, Love would play in an up-tempo system that speaks to his strengths."

Kevin Love allegedly wants to stay near California, Los Angeles to be specific. But the two Los Angeles teams just do not have the assets. Sacramento is willing to take a rental but they are offering Rudy Gay, one of the hardest players to trade.

The clear rival is the Golden State Warriors. They have Love's ideal teammate in Stephen Curry. They also have a good package centered on David Lee, Harrison Barnes and possibly Draymond Green or Klay Thompson.

But Klay Thompson is reportedly not on the table. He might be the subject of a bluffing game. Also, the  Warrriors would not have the picks that Minnesota would demand.

Draft picks are important for a rebuilding team as they would give them foundation players and salary cap flexibility. If Minnesota accepts the trade offer, all the Suns need is to convince Kevin Love that they can make the playoffs. Most observers are convinced, and the Suns can actually acquire another free agent apart from Love.
