ASUS Tablets 2014: MeMo Pad 7 And 8 Are Budget Slates Running A 64-Bit Intel Atom Chipset, Comes In A Variety Of Color Options

In case you are looking for a decent Android tablet that can run most of the tasks you throw at it, then the new ASUS tablets for 2014 may be good options.

During the Computex Expo in Taiwan this week, ASUS unveiled a number of devices which include another Transformer tablet/laptop hybrid, several phones and tablets.

According to a report by Android Community, the Taiwanese manufacturer recently unveiled the MeMo Pad 7 ME176C and the MeMO Pad 8 ME581CL, both running on an unknown version of Android.

As for the MeMo Pad 7 and 8, both devices should keep ASUS' tradition for budget-friendly Android slates.

First up is the MeMo Pad 7 which packs a 7-inch display with a decent 1280 x 800 resolution, an Intel Atom chip that supports 64-bit applications, and a quad-core CPU clocked at 1.86GHz. Other specs of the midrange device include a 5 megapixel camerra at the back and a 2MP front shooter, both equipped with ASUS' PixelMaster technology.

On the audio side, the tablet packs dual SonicMaster stereo speakers. There is also support for wireless streaming of media with the help of Miracast and aptX.

Meanwhile, the MeMo Pad 8 is certainly the higher end model with its 8-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) display, 2GB RAM, Intel Atom chip, 2.3GHz quad-core CPU, and an option for 16GB or 32GB of internal storage.

Another plus for the 8-inch slate is LTE connectivity which would be perfect for consumers who prefer mobile connection on-the-go.

Like its smaller sibling, the high-end tablet gets the PixelMaster, SonicMaster and media streaming support of the Taiwanese manufacturer.

Unfortunately, actual pricing and availability details are not yet confirmed as of the moment, though you may want to check out the devices' color options which include black, white, yellow, blue, red and pink.
