Moto X+1 Release Date Is Near As Company VP Accidentally Confirms It With 1080p Screenshot

Launched around this time last year, the Moto X continues to be one of Motorola's well loved smartphones mainly because of its sleek design, simple but effective features and a number of gesture controls.

And so we can't help but wonder when the Lenovo-owned manufacturer would launch its successor.

In several reports la couple of months, rumors have it that Motorola is working on a new high-end smartphone, dubbed as the Motorola Moto X+1, which at that time was pretty 'popular' due to the impending launch of the OnePlus One smartphone.

But in case you are looking for a monster Android device, the Moto X+1 might disappoint you. One rumored specification for the device include a Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution screen, which is the point of interest in this recent report.

According to a report by GSM Arena, several Motorola phone users have been complaining to the company as their smartphones display their respective carrier names on their smartphones' status bars.

In response, Motorola's VP for Product Management Punit Soni posted a screenshot through Google+ showing users where they can untick the 'Show Mobile Network' feature in the phone's settings tab.

Here is the screenshot from Soni's Motorola smartphone:

As you can see from the image, there is nothing wrong or interesting about it aside from the fact that it solves the problems of some Motorola users. However, in a report by both GSM Arena and Phone Arena, it appears that the screenshot resolution came from the 1080p display.

Currently, Motorola does not have any smartphones with display resolutions higher than the HD (1280 x 720) screens of the Moto X and Moto G. This leads tech websites to assume that the screenshot came from another Motorola device with a better screen, and that could just be the Moto X+1.

In the report, Motorola will be holding an event on June 13, wherein the Lenovo-owned company could unveil its newest Android flagship. Knowing Motorola, it would surely provide an affordable price tag for the new smartphone to get the interest of prospective buyers.
