This year, phone manufacturers in India have become bolder in releasing upcoming Android phones for 2014, and it looks like these companies are already eyeing the international market. 

But first, let us take a look at a new Android powered handset from Indian phone manufacturer Xolo. 

According to a report by GSM Arena, Xolo has took the wraps off of its newest midranger device. Dubbed as the Xolo Q1200, the Android smartphone is pretty thin at only 6.8mm. 

On the outside, the Xolo Q1200 packs a 5-inch IPS display with a decent HD (1280 x 720) resolution covered with Gorilla Glass 3, an 8 megapixel camera that can shoot 1080p clips, and a 2MP front facing shooter. 

Given the slightly lower specs of the Xolo handset, this is certainly a midranger, but when you consider the phone's design, one can't help but admire the work Xolo has put into it. 

Other notable specs of the smartphone include a quad-core 1.3GHz Cortex-A7 CPU, a MediaTek MT6582 chipset, Mali-400MP2 graphics for discrete graphic performance, and 1GB of RAM. Also on board is an 8GB of built in memory which can be expanded through the phone's microSD card slot. 

Lastly, the Xolo Q1200 packs the usual connectivity features, a 2,000mAh battery, but only Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean out of the box. Fortunately, the company promises consumers and potential buyers of the device that it would be upgraded to Kit Kat later this year. 

According to the report, the Xolo smartphone will make its debut in India on June 10, with a price tag of INR13,999 or about $238. 

Xolo, Karbonn and other Indian manufacturers are bravely standing firm in the subcontinent's mobile market. And while Samsung still leads the way in terms of market share, these Indian brands are doing their part in preventing Samsung's sole reign in the country.
