Dwayne Johnson: ‘Shazam’ Movie Is DC Secret Project? Will He Play The Lead Or Black Adam? 'The Rock' Wants A Character That Has Never Been Brought To Life!

The "Shazam" movie is among the list of projects that was announced by Warner Bros. Dwayne Johnson has confirmed the offer for Lobo, but it was not part of the announcement.

Which led some observers to the conclusion that it was actually the Shazam movie he'll be working on. "The Rock" did mention Black Adam as a possible role. It is definitely within his range.

The announcement from Wall Street Journal: "Warner Bros. has several other movies in development unconnected to the Justice League that are based on DC superheroes and fantasy and crime titles from its Vertigo line of genre comics, said Mr. Silverman and Toby Emmerich, president of Warner's New Line Cinema label. They include 'Shazam,' 'Metal Men,' '100 Bullets,' and 'Fables.'"

However, in the actor's Collider interview, he named three qualities of the character he wants to play. One of them:

"The other quality was that he had to -- the character we were looking for had to be well-known but never brought to life," he went on to add. "What that does again as an actor, it gives me a little bit of space, and we talked about personality. It just gives me a chance to put an imprint into his personality, with the set of tools that I could bring to the table and put a very unique twist on his personality, but still pay homage to who he is."

The Hollywood Reporter points out: "Never brought to life? Well, that would appear to knock out rumors that Johnson would be playing Shazam, who's previously appeared in live-action form in the 1970s TV series of the same name that ran on CBS Saturday mornings."

It was not specified by the "Hercules" actor whether he refers to live action movies only. Anyway, it would be easy to retract this statement.

The next big question is whether he will be Shazam (Captain Marvel) or Black Adam. He has the physique for both these characters.

Watch out for further announcements on Dwayne Johnson's DC movie role.
