Best Android Tablets 2014: UHD-Packed Samsung Slate Spotted In The Wild, Specs Incl. 12" Display, Snapdragon 801 SoC

The best Android tablets for 2014 are already in the market and that includes devices from a few notable manufacturers. But if you were Samsung, you should be pleased with yourself as the company accounts for more than half of the best Android slates around.

And one has just been spotted in action.

According to a report by GSM Arena, a high-end Android tablet while it was broadcasting a match during the French Open at the Roland Garros venue.

While the device has been unnamed, it already confirmed that the Android slate supports 4G LTE connectivity while broadcasting a match.

Another alleged specification of the device is a Snapdragon 801 chipset, which means that this device is certainlya aimed at the enterprise or high budget market.

In the report, the Samsung tablet also packs a 12-inch display with UHD or 4k resolution for superior quality in images, videos and other display features.

For the past couple of years, Samsung has led the Android tablet competition within the platform. Primarily, the Korean tech giant's strategy is to release as many slates as possible in order to get most of the market they are covering. Indeed, Samsung has several devices ranging from entry-level to high-end level, and consumers usually get the bang for their buck.

For entry-level and some midrange Android tablets, consumers pay from $200 to almos $400, which is still manageable. However, for top-notch devices, price ranges from $500-700 , which is pretty steep. But then again, you pay for the tablet's specs.

So once Samsung launches this 12-inch tablet with a UHD display probably in the latter half of the year, expect an eye-popping amount of money for its price tag.

In a previous announcement by Qualcomm's Senior VP of Product Management, Raj Talluri mentioned that the dawn of 4K tablets will begin by the end of the year.
