LG G3 Review: Is The New LG Flagship The Best To Date?

More than a week ago, LG finally unveiled its brand new flagship, a couple months after its competitors announced their own. However, right after the announcement, the entire Internet is already buzzing about the Android-powered handset.

For more than four months, we've heard all sorts of rumors, leaks, alleged materials to be used for the device's construction, and features. And during the LG G3's announcement, it was all worth the wait.

Sure, there were a few misses as far as rumors go. The device did not sport a metal clad body, but a polycarbonate plastic cover with metallic finish. In addition, there were also no fingerprint scanners no waterproof resistance as previous rumors claimed.

However, on the plus side, the LG G3 indeed gets a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) display, the largest when compared to the Sony Xperia Z2, Samsung Galaxy S5, and the HTC One M8. Surprisingly, the difference in height is almost unnoticeable thanks to the G3's thin top and bottom bezels.

The device is also incredibly thin that some reports say that some people are worried that the device would break while in their hands. Of course that won't happen as the device is made out of durable plastic and a Gorilla Glass 3 screen.

Inside the LG G3 runs a quad-core CPU running at 2.5GHz, same as the Xperia Z2 and the Galaxy S5, paired with a Snapdragon 801 chipset. However, LG ups its game a bit as it adds 3GB of RAM which only matches a handful of Android handsets in the market such as the Xperia Z2 and the Oppo Find 7.

Behind the phone is the usual power button, volume buttons combination. There is a 13MP primary shooter with OIS and dual LED flash at the right side. Meanwhile, a second sensor which is for focusing images is located at the left. The front part packs a 2MP shooter for selfies and video calls.

The LG G3 has now been launched in Korea and is reported to have surpassed 100,000 sales in just 5 days. We will see how it stacks against the competition when it hits the international scene.
