Samsung Galaxy S4 Active users can now install official Android 4.4.2 KitKat update.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 Active is the dust-resistant and water-resistant version of the 2013 flagship smartphone of the South Korean tech giant. "The Samsung Galaxy S4 Active is designed to handle the great outdoors, with fully sealed design that provides great protection from dust and water," as described on Samsung.com.

For Samsung Galaxy S4 Active users who are wishing for an update, the official Android 4.4.2 firmware has been released. As noted on IB Times, Samsung has already started rolling out the international version of Samsung Galaxy S4 Active.

The firmware, with build number I9295XXUCNE4, is now out for Samsung Galaxy S4 Active via Over-the-Air process. Accordingly, those in Nordic countries are the first ones to receive and install the official Android 4.4.2 KitKat update.

Particularly, the official Android 4.4.2 KitKat update is compatible to Samsung Galaxy S4 Active bearing the model number GT-I9295. The firmware can be accessed via Over-the-Air update or using the Samsung KIES server in certain countries.

Meanwhile, Samsung Galaxy S4 Active users who are eager to install official Android 4.4.2 KitKat update but cannot wait for the OTA notification can opt for the manual installation process. But before doing so, there are some requirements that should be satisfied first.

One, the battery level of the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active should be 80 percent or more to avoid power interruption issues
